Professor Yumiko Mikanagi, senior researcher at Columbia's Weatherhead East Asian Institute and currently the Robert S. Griffith '52 Visiting International Scholar in Politics at W&L, will give a lecture.
The title of her talk, which is free and open to the public, is "The Salaryman and Japan's Foreign Policy."
Before Columbia, Mikanagi held positions at Harvard's Reischauer Institute of Japanese Studies, the Center for Japanese Studies at the University of California, Berkeley and the New School for Social Research.
At the International Christian University in Japan she was a founding member of the Center for Gender Studies and was research director for the Peace Research Institute.
